FAQ

What is online therapy like?

Meeting online gives you the ability to choose a space for therapy that you feel comfortable in, like outside, in your lounge wear, with your pets on your lap, endless options. This also allows more flexibility for you, less travel time, less time off of work, for these reasons and many more, many people are finding that they have the same or better experience with online therapy as meeting in person.

Do you take my insurance?

I do currently take some Minnesota insurances, listed on the pricing tab, but I will begin terminating contracts with them January 2023. I will then become an Out of Network Provider for all insurances. I can provide a statement for your insurance company, what is called a super bill. Contact your insurance company directly to inquire about potential reimbursement as I cannot guarantee reimbursement of therapy fees.

Why don’t you take any insurance?

By being an Out of Network Provider, it gives us flexibility with your therapy and allows us to truly meet you where you are at. Insurance companies require me to give you a diagnosis for billing purposes and they often put restrictions on the number and length of sessions. Since insurance companies are paying for it, they have a right to audit your file and determine if they will continue paying for sessions based on what they deem to be your progress.

What is your fee?

My fee is $250 for the initial 90 intake assessment, where I gather background information and we work together to develop a treatment plan. Ongoing therapy sessions are $200 for one 53 minute session. I also offer a free 20 minute phone or video consultation to give you an opportunity to see what online therapy is like.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 48 hour notice for an appointment cancellation. Failure to cancel will result in a full session fee charge or if using insurance, the cost of your co-pay.

Is it going to work?

CBT, EFT, and Mindfulness approaches have proven to be successful in treating trauma symptoms, anxiety symptoms, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder separately. By taking parts of different modalities and adapting them to create our plan so that we can meet your specific needs, we increase success and the tools we develop will be ones that make sense for you.

How do we get started?

You are eligible for a free 20 minute consultation, which is an opportunity to see what virtually therapy is like. We will talk about what goals you have, where you are in your wellness, and to see if you are a good fit.
